While we are starting the 2020-2021 school year remotely, please know that our PTA is still here for all our families and school community. PTA will certainly look different this year, but our board is committed to meeting remotely and finding ways to stay engaged with our members. Maywood Middle School PTA supports critical academic needs, is an active voice on decisions that impact your child’s health, safety, and quality of education, and builds a stronger, more inclusive school community. We invite you to join and PTA For Your Child because increasing our membership, even by one, makes it possible to support our teachers by providing grant opportunities, helping our school provide rewards for student recognition, and helping provide food and school supplies through our community outreach. We will continue to partner and help teachers and staff throughout the year to provide new opportunities to support students and families. Your membership is critical for us to achieve these goals.

A family membership is $30 (2 members), an Individual Membership (1 member) is $20 and a Teacher/Staff membership is $10. All memberships include access to our online Student Directory which will be updated in the Fall. Being a PTA member also gets you free tickets to ParentWiser organized events. Once you join, you will receive a Washington State PTA Membership Card which entitles you to many local discounts. We ask you to consider donating to our Pass the Hat Fundraiser.

Please join PTSA and donate to our "Pass the Hat" fundraiser!  Your donations help us to support your students' educational experience here at Maywood!

Your membership and donations make it possible for us to fund classroom grants, plan grade level social events, provide tutoring in math lab, pay for visiting musicians for band and orchestra, help Maywood student families in need, support field trips, Charger 100 treats 3x per year for our students, plus much more!  The PTSA Fall and Spring Scholastic Book Fairs at Maywood provide funding to our own Maywood Library!.

Thank you for your membership and donation!

As a member of Maywood PTSA you are also a member of the WA State PTA & National PTA. Click on the links below to view your additional membership benefits from the WA State PTA & National PTA!

With the weather changing, we wanted to remind everyone of some ideas for how to handle disruptions to power and internet while we are in Remote Learning. If power or internet are not available at a time that the Live class is happening, students are still able to engage in school by watching the recorded lesson and submitting their assignments, in an “asynchronous” manner. Students are not penalized for engaging in their lessons via the recordings and what is posted on Canvas. We hope that all of our families are safe, and that there are no disruptions. If there are any power or internet outages, please do your best with what is recorded and posted for your class, and we will work with you!

 Meal Pickup for Students Available

Food Distribution Updates: Free Meals Provided for Students

 Beginning Monday, September 28:

Beginning Monday, September 28, the district will begin providing breakfast and lunch, will add one pickup day per week, and will add four more pickup sites. These meals will be provided at no cost to families.

  • Mondays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Pick up breakfast and lunch for three days on Mondays and pick up breakfast and lunch for two days on Thursdays.
  • This schedule will continue until at least December, or until federal funding runs out.

Students may pick up a meal package for themselves, or parents/guardians may pick up for each student in their household.

Food service staff at all locations follow all CDC and Health Department recommendations for safety, including social distancing and wearing face coverings.

Each component of the meals will be packaged separately to maintain food quality. For example, the bread, meat, cheese and condiments of a sandwich will be packaged separately and need to be assembled at home. Students will be able to select between meat or meatless entrées. Refrigeration of some items will be required and some minimal cooking may be required. Cooking instructions will be provided as needed.
